WHO WE ARE
Founded in 1993 by Fabs Apepe, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization MISAMISNON-USA Inc. has prided itself on the simple act of helping others. Throughout the years, our largest event has become our biennial medical missions held in Misamis Occidental of the Philippines. On these missions, a team of local doctors, nurses, dentists, and so forth, provide check-ups and any care to the citizens who typically do not have access or cannot afford such treatment. Our medical missions are made possible by the contributions and donations from various fundraisers, membership fees, and outside events.
Thus far, Misamisnon-USA Inc. has helped over 58,782 indigent patients and awarded one full college scholarship to a promising student from the Misamis Occidental province. While a majority of our members stem from Filipino backgrounds (many former residents of Misamis Occidental), our organization is open to all. The addition of our subsidiary youth group, Youth For Misamis, contributes a dynamic element to our organization. Established by Kayla Padilla, granddaughter of Joe Manalastas, Youth For Misamis poses as a platform for those ages 25 and below that is centered on community service and raising awareness for Filipino culture.
